How the Educational Board Works?
As all students know, your exams were conducted after a long gap of five years, and now the Punjab Board is going to announce the results. Before the result, we want to explain how the education boards work, how your papers are checked, and how and when your result will be announced.
8th Class Result Expected Date
First, talking about the result, the expected date and time is currently being reported as 9 April 2026, and this will soon be officially announced by all boards. This year, all Punjab education boards will announce the 8th class result on the same day and at the same time. So, it will not happen that one board announces earlier and another later. All students will be able to check their result at the same time.
Passing Percentage
Now, regarding the education policy, the passing percentage has been increased from 33% to 40%. This means that out of 100 marks, a student must score at least 40 marks to pass. If a student is short by one or two marks, some grace marks may be awarded, but for larger gaps, no extra marks will be given. Also, keep in mind that if you fail in even one subject, you will be considered failed overall.

If a student fails, supplementary exams will be conducted after some time. We suggest that if your exams did not go well, learn from your mistakes and prepare better for the next attempt so you can pass and move forward to matric, which is very important for your future.
How are 8th Class Papers Being Checked this year?
Now, talking about paper checking, this year, for the first time, the Punjab Board is using digital marking. This means your papers will be checked through a computerized system, reducing the chances of errors like unchecked questions or miscalculation of marks. However, since humans are still involved, minor errors can still happen, though they will be very rare.
If you feel that your marks are lower than expected, you will have the option to apply for rechecking and get your paper reviewed again.
