Online E-Marking System Introduced Across All Education Boards
With the passage of time, the education boards of Pakistan are moving toward online e-marking. The Inter Board Coordination Commission has now made it mandatory that all boards in Pakistan, including all Punjab boards, shift to paper checking through E-Marking.
Computer Science Paper as Pilot Project
As a pilot project, the upcoming Computer Science paper will be checked through e-marking. This is only in the testing phase. The IBCC has provided the checking software to all boards so that they can start marking the Computer Science paper through this system. If this project proves successful, it will then be implemented for other subjects as well.
Will the 8th Class 2026 Paper be Checked through E-Marking?
The 8th class examinations are about to begin, and students want to know whether their papers will also be marked through e-marking. The answer is no. The Punjab Board, which will conduct the 8th class PECTAA examinations, will have students’ papers checked manually. Online e-marking has not yet been introduced for these exams because it is still in the testing phase.

Therefore, E-Marking will be used only for the Computer Science paper, while all 8th class papers will be checked manually. Over time, once the e-marking system proves successful, it will be implemented for every paper across all boards in Pakistan.
This system will reduce the risk of marking errors and ensure that papers are professionally checked. This is beneficial for students because they have often complained that their papers are not checked properly, and sometimes even correct answers are marked wrong, which affects their future. The E-Marking system aims to eliminate these errors and is a positive step for the future of students.
